Aug 1 – America’s 250th anniversary events
Free all-day living history encampment to remember local leaders from the time of the Revolution. Reenactors recreate daily life as soldiers and civilians, often using period-accurate tents, cooking gear, & demonstrations like open-fire cooking or blacksmithing.

St. John’s Park includes the 1845 old St. John’s Church plus acres of land that once was used by General Lafayette & 5000 soldiers in the War for Independence in 1781.

Learn about the Founding Fathers who gave birth to our nation, and especially patriots from Louisa and this region.
See original artifacts from the Revolution, including a chair used by Lafayette and the Continental Congress.
